A fusing machine has two pressure rollers, a revolving feed sheet, and a fusing chamber. The roller pressure is produced by spring power or pneumatic power. The fusing chamber controls the temperature and pressure required to fuse the interlining with the base fabric.
The temperature and pressure are pre-set in the machine. Fusing can be done for a whole roll of fabric or for a part of the fabric. The machine can also be set for the type of fiber. Generally, the fusing machine is set to recommended conditions for the type of fiber and fabric. Usually, the fusing machine is set to operate at a high temperature. The temperature should be controlled so that the bond is strong. The pressure should be uniform throughout.

The fusing machine also requires water. A special heating system can turn the machine off in high temperature. A continuous fusing machine uses an inverter motor to ensure the heaters receive the correct wattage of power. The inverter motor also allows the machine to run under stressful conditions.
